Do I need an account?

No. Guests pick a display name and join via invite link or room code.

Is this end-to-end encrypted?

With E2E enabled, document updates are encrypted in your browser before sync — the relay only sees ciphertext. Without E2E, rooms use transport encryption (HTTPS/WSS) only.

What happens when a room expires?

The room becomes inaccessible and temporary server data is deleted. Local browser copies can be cleared separately.
