An e-invoice is a structured, machine-readable invoice — typically XML (XRechnung) or a PDF with embedded XML (ZUGFeRD/Factur-X). A plain image PDF without structured data is not an e-invoice.
No. A simple PDF is not enough. Only formats with structured invoice data (XRechnung XML or ZUGFeRD/Factur-X) meet the technical definition of an e-invoice.
XRechnung is usually pure XML (UBL or CII) for structured exchange. ZUGFeRD/Factur-X combines a PDF/A-3 with embedded EN 16931 XML — human-readable and machine-processable.
Leitweg-ID mainly addresses German public-sector recipients. Many private B2B recipients do not require it. Check your counterparty's rules and use the Leitweg-ID checker when needed.
Standard validation runs locally in your browser. File contents are not sent to Tentaco servers for that path. Any online steps are labeled in the UI.
No. Tentaco supports technical checks of structure and rules. Legal or tax questions belong with your advisor or the invoice recipient.
