PDF/A (ISO 19005) requires embedded fonts, color profiles and forbids encryption or external dependencies that could break rendering decades later. PDF/A-3 allows embedded XML — the basis for ZUGFeRD/Factur-X hybrid e-invoices.
Archival submissions often reject non-PDF/A files. Tentaco validates PDF/A-3 constraints for ZUGFeRD exports and offers PDF/A metadata preparation tools.
